Catch some "flights" this summer
Looking for an activity where you can enjoy the outdoors, support small businesses, and even find a way to make drinking at 2:00 PM socially acceptable?

The Port Moody Ale Trail, also known as Brewer's Row, is about to become your favourite summer activity. When two breweries happened to open up on the same street in 2014, it was a coincidence. Now that number has jumped to six standalone breweries who host accompanying food trucks, and is far from just happenstance. This scenic stretch boasts having something for everyone, "from beer beginners to hopheads, barrel freaks, and sour seekers" alike. Here's an ideal route to help you navigate the trail:
Begin your brewery hopping adventure at Yellow Dog Brewing (2817 Murray St), the original craft brewery in Port Moody. Established in 2014, Yellow Dog is known for its dog-themed beers like Retriever Golden Ale and Squirrel Chaser Hazy Pale Ale. Enjoy their rotating selection of food trucks and a spacious backyard-style patio perfect for sunny days.

Next, head next door to Twin Sails Brewing (2821 Murray St), founded by twin brothers inspired by the sight of sailboats on Burrard Inlet. Their lineup includes patriotic options like their Glorious and Free - Canadian IPA and their refreshing Locals Only West Coast Pale Ale. The brewery features a large front patio, ideal for relaxing with friends.

Continue west to The Parkside Brewery (2731 Murray St), located across from Rocky Point Park. Known for its year-round brews such as Dawn Pilsner and Dusk Pale Ale, Parkside also offers unique options like their Sparkling Rosé and Earl Grey Cider. The brewery's spacious patio and regular food trucks make it a popular stop.

Just a short walk away is Rewind Beer Co. (2809 Murray St), an offshoot of Parkside Brewery. Rewind focuses on small-batch, experimental beers (take their Rainbow Road Tropical Sour for example) with a nostalgic 1980s and '90s theme. It's also home to Hightop Pizza, serving Detroit-style deep-dish pies, a salvation for those craving a drunk snack.

Finally, cap the night at Moody Ales & Co. (2601 Murray St), where you'll find a diverse selection of beers, including lagers, IPAs, and even options like their Lavender Sour which also come in non-alcoholic form. Moody Ales boasts a selection of "cold drinks, hot food, [and] good times."
